Autumn School Visit
Recently, I spent two days in a Cambridge school where we explored the theme of body awareness and feelings. I had the joy of working with all children from Reception to Year 6 and the children learned how to shift their focus from the busy thoughts in their minds to the sensations in their bodies, helping them understand how emotions show up physically.
We stretched with playful poses, created art while listening to classical music and some more modern songs and discussed the changes we notice in our bodies when big feelings come to visit like Angry Angelina or Sad Sandrina. The children also made their own breathing wands—a fun and creative way to practice mindful breathing! It was a great reminder of how mindfulness can bring calm and balance, helping children connect with their emotions in a healthy way. I was impressed with the discussion and engagement of the children and can't wait to go back and visit next term!
I'm opening up my diary for 2025 soon and cannot wait to visit even more schools to share the joys of creative mindfulness! If you know a school who might be interested do get in touch, I'd love to hear from you!
